The Unlikeliest Hero
He Didn’t Look Like a Champion… But He Won the Greatest Fight in History.
The world expected a warrior, a king with power and might. Instead, Jesus came as a servant, stepping into the greatest battle of all time—against sin, death, and the forces of darkness. He fought not with fists, but with sacrifice. The enemy thought he had won. But then… Sunday came.
Day 4: Staying Spiritually Vigilant
Jesus’ disciples failed to stay awake and support Him, highlighting the need for spiritual vigilance. In our own lives, we must be aware of spiritual slumber and prioritize prayer and connection with God, especially in challenging times. Spiritual vigilance involves being alert to the movements of the Holy Spirit and staying grounded in God’s Word. It requires intentionality in our spiritual practices, ensuring that we are not lulled into complacency but remain active participants in our faith journey.
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8, ESV)
Reflection: In what ways have you become spiritually complacent? What steps can you take to become more spiritually vigilant in your daily life?
