The Unlikeliest Hero

He Didn’t Look Like a Champion… But He Won the Greatest Fight in History.

The world expected a warrior, a king with power and might. Instead, Jesus came as a servant, stepping into the greatest battle of all time—against sin, death, and the forces of darkness. He fought not with fists, but with sacrifice. The enemy thought he had won. But then… Sunday came.

Day 5: Reflecting on Our Faith

2 Corinthians 13:5 (ESV)

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!”

Devotional Thought:

Passion Week isn’t just a time to remember what Jesus did—it’s a time to reflect on how we respond.

We’ve followed Him from the crowd’s cheers to the garden’s sorrow, through betrayal, brutality, and finally, the cross. Now it’s time to look inward.

Are we following Jesus daily—or just occasionally?
Do we live like He’s Lord on Monday… or just sing about it on Sunday?

Paul’s challenge in 2 Corinthians is direct: “Examine yourselves. Test yourselves.” This isn’t about guilt—it’s about growth. It’s about recognizing that real faith transforms how we think, how we speak, how we love, and how we show up in the lives of others.

If Jesus really lives in us, it should show. Not just in our theology or our worship songs—but in our patience, our humility, our conversations, our willingness to forgive, and our boldness to share His love with others.

And here’s the good news: You’re not alone in this. The Holy Spirit isn’t just your conviction—He’s your strength. He empowers you to live authentically and share the hope of Christ with a world that desperately needs it.

Reflection Questions:

  • What does your current walk with God actually look like—daily trust or just weekend rhythm?

  • Where is Jesus inviting you to go deeper, even if it’s uncomfortable?

  • Are there habits, fears, or distractions keeping your faith from growing?

Challenge for Today:

Write down one concrete step you can take this week to make your faith more real.

Maybe it’s initiating prayer with a friend, starting your day in Scripture, reconciling with someone, or inviting someone to church on Easter.

Then ask the Holy Spirit to help you live boldly, consistently, and with love—not just this week, but every day that follows.

Because the unlikeliest hero didn’t die and rise just to change your weekend.
He came to change your life.
