Trailblazers – Walking the Path of Commitment
In our Trailblazers series, we’re exploring what it means to go “all in” for Jesus and His mission. Just like trailblazers forge paths for others, we’re called to commit fully to following Christ, serving others, and building His Kingdom. This series serves as the foundation for our membership class, and we’d love for all our regular attenders to join us each week as we take this important journey together. Let’s walk the path of faith, purpose, and commitment as a church family!
Day 4: Accountability in Church Leadership
The church is elder-led but congregationally accountable. Elders are subject to the same discipline as any member, ensuring transparency. The congregation has the power to call meetings and vote on significant decisions, maintaining the church’s mission and values. Our church governance is elder-led but ultimately congregationally accountable. Elders are subject to the same discipline as any member, ensuring transparency and accountability. The congregation has the power to call for meetings and vote on significant decisions, including the appointment or dismissal of elders. This structure ensures that the church remains true to its mission and values.
Hebrews 13:17 (ESV): “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.”
Reflection: In what ways can you support your church leaders while also holding them accountable to the church’s mission and values?
