Friends,
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it's easy to lose sight of one of our most sacred duties as followers of Christ: discipleship. Discipleship isn't merely a church activity or program—it's a way of life, a divine calling to help others know and follow the Lord.
Today, I want to share with you how this essential element not only draws us closer to Christ but also strengthens the bonds of our community.
Discipleship calls us to imitate and replicate the heart of Jesus in our everyday interactions. It is crucial for us to begin to understand that biblical discipleship is grounded in following Jesus and inviting others to join us in this journey.
Whether we are working side by side with someone, interacting with the checkout person or simply sharing a meal, every encounter can be an opportunity to model Christ's love and wisdom.
At The Crossings Community Church, we envision ourselves as a guiding light within our community, a beacon of hope and support for those navigating the complexities of modern life. Our mission is to create authentic relationships and cultivate a community grounded in faith and fellowship.
This involves embracing discipleship by actively encouraging one another in our walk with Christ, learning from His teachings, and sharing His love with those around us.
Time waits for no man. Thus, every second is precious, every interaction sacred in building the kingdom of God on earth. We MUST be about our kingdom business! Our discipleship efforts extend beyond the confines of our church's walls.
We are called to evangelize, to proclaim the Gospel with tenderness and truth in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and families. Discipleship can occur over coffee, during a discussed passage from Scripture, or in the spontaneous conversations about faith during a sunset stroll. BUT it must be intentionally sought after!
Our community thrives not by accident but through intentional relationships. I think we would all agree that we do a good job at being a community. We love each other and we take care of each other. But now we must take that love a step further! We must be intentional to disciple each other and let ourselves be discipled.
We must foster discipleship within the very fabric of our congregation, championing both structured studies and spontaneous discussions. Both small group discipleship time and one on one discipleship relationships.
Let's be proactive, weaving a rich tapestry of support and spiritual growth right here in Brunswick as we strive to reach our goal of expanding to 200 members in the next 24 months.
May God’s grace empower us to live our lives as stories of transformation and testament to His love. Let us not just be members of The Crossings Community Church, but also true disciples who make disciples. Together, we can illuminate our community with the radiant light of Christ, sharing His love, hope, and guidance.
May God bless you and invigorate your commitment to His eternal story.
