Meet Jesus

Jesus came to bring hope, transformation, and the promise of a full and abundant life. In John 10:10, He declares, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” No matter where you are in your journey, Jesus offers forgiveness, peace, and a relationship with God that brings true fulfillment. His love is for everyone, and His invitation is open to you. Are you ready to take the next step and meet Jesus?

Life is a journey, and along the way, we all face struggles, mistakes, and the need for something greater. The Romans Road is a simple yet powerful way to understand how God offers hope, forgiveness, and a restored relationship with Him through Jesus. Our Leadership

At The Crossings Church, our leadership team is dedicated to guiding individuals on their spiritual journey to Jesus. Committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive community, we strive to help each person grow in their faith through authentic worship, meaningful discipleship, and compassionate outreach. By living out the teachings of Christ and providing opportunities for connection and growth, we aim to lead others in experiencing the transformative power of God’s love and grace.

How Leadership Works at The Crossings

How Leadership Works at The Crossings

At The Crossings Community Church, we follow a model of elder-led governance, which reflects the biblical pattern seen in passages like Acts 14:23, Titus 1:5, and 1 Peter 5:1–3. In this model, qualified elders lead the church by shepherding the congregation, providing spiritual oversight, and making key ministry decisions in alignment with Scripture and the mission of the church.

The members of The Crossings entrust the elders with responsibility for both spiritual leadership and day-to-day operations. This is not a hierarchical system, but one marked by mutual submission, shared authority, and a commitment to servant leadership.

Justin serves under the spiritual authority of Pastor Josh McClain, the Lead Pastor of our sponsoring church, Hagerstown Church, who also serves as an elder at The Crossings. Pastor Josh provides accountability, encouragement, and an external perspective to help our local team stay grounded and healthy.

Together, this elder team leads the church with prayerful discernment, humility, and a shared commitment to Christ and His people.

A PLACE TO FIND ANSWERS

What We Believe

What We Believe

The Crossings Church is an elder-led congregation located in Brunswick, Maryland, with full autonomy over our operations and community service initiatives.

The Crossings Community Church exists under the lordship of Jesus Christ. We are committed to holding fast to the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3).

Our Statement of Faith outlines the core doctrines we believe are essential for all members. These truths represent our shared convictions and shape our understanding of God, humanity, salvation, and the Church. Members of The Crossings are asked to affirm these beliefs as a foundation for shared life and mission.

Scripture Reference: Titus 1:9, 1 Timothy 6:12, Acts 2:42

We believe in one true and living God who eternally exists in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each Person is fully God, equal in power and glory, and perfectly united in nature and purpose. God is the Creator of all things, the sustainer of life, and the one who rules over all with justice, mercy, and grace

Scripture Reference: Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14

God has made Himself known through His creation, through His Son Jesus Christ, and through the Scriptures. The Bible is God’s inspired Word, true and trustworthy in everything it teaches. It reveals who God is, what He has done, and how we are to live. The Bible is our highest authority in matters of belief and practice.

Scripture Reference: 2 Timothy 3:16–17, Hebrews 1:1–2, Psalm 19:7–11

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He entered our world through the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to atone for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended into heaven. One day He will return to judge the living and the dead and to fully establish His kingdom.

Scripture Reference: John 1:1–14, Colossians 1:15–20, Philippians 2:5–11, Acts 1:11

The Holy Spirit is God’s presence with us and in us. He convicts the world of sin, regenerates hearts, gives spiritual gifts, and empowers believers to live holy lives. He comforts, counsels, and leads the Church in truth. The Spirit works in every believer to make us more like Christ.

Scripture Reference: John 14:26, Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:22–23, Romans 8:9–11

We joyfully affirm our place in the broader evangelical tradition. This means we are committed to the good news that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We emphasize the authority of Scripture, the necessity of personal conversion, the urgency of gospel mission, and the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and the church.

Scripture Reference: Ephesians 2:8–9, Romans 10:9–15, 1 Peter 1:23–25

We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant, established by God in creation and affirmed by Jesus Christ, to be the union of one man and one woman for life. This covenant reflects the relationship between Christ and His Church and serves as the foundation for family and society. In keeping with historic, orthodox convictions, we affirm that marriage is designed by God for companionship, mutual support, and the raising of children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

We stand in agreement with the Apostles’, and Nicene Creeds as faithful summaries of Christian belief. These ancient statements help us remain rooted in historic orthodoxy while joining in unity with the global and timeless Church. They are not Scripture, but they are rich in truth drawn from it.

Scripture Reference: 1 Timothy 3:16, Jude 1:3, 2 Thessalonians 2:15

Our theological distinctives help shape the character and direction of our church. These are areas where we bring clarity to our teaching and leadership. While agreement with every distinctive is not required for membership, we ask that members understand they influence how we lead, disciple, and structure our ministries.

Scripture Reference: Romans 14:5, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Ephesians 4:11–13

Imago Dei

The Image of God

All people are created in the Image of God and that changes everything. It changes how we view and interact with others, as well as the issues that we care about as believers. Every life matters because every life is created in the image of God.

They will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another

Why Church Membership Matters

Why Church Membership Matters

Being a committed member of a local church is an essential part of the Christian life. In Scripture, believers are called to be more than just attendees—we are part of the body of Christ, each with a role to play (Romans 12:4-5). Membership is a declaration of commitment, not just to a church, but to a shared mission, community, and spiritual growth. It provides a place to serve, encourage, and be encouraged, to be held accountable in our faith, and to walk alongside others as we grow in Christ. At The Crossings, we believe that when we are fully invested in our church family, we experience the richness of true biblical community and make a lasting impact for God’s Kingdom.

Big Idea

The Kingdom of God is here and now, and we are called to participate in it. This begins with salvation, followed by baptism, spiritual growth, and engaging in the mission of the church. Our ultimate purpose is to guide people to find and follow Jesus

Big Idea

Just like every hiker carries essential gear on a journey, every believer has been given gifts to serve and strengthen the church. Being part of the body of Christ isn’t about sitting on the sidelines—it’s about actively using what God has given us to bless others.
